Book, horses.

^
(Sorry really bad quality.)

This is my new favorite book. This seriously changed my hair life. If you have curly hair i would Seriously get this or at lease rent it from the library. The number of bad hair days i have had since reading this book has gone down considerably! It's amazing. Period. Even if you don't have curly hair it might have some tips for you!

So I have some really good news! I think I might have found a horse to lease so that I can ride in the Washington county fair!!!! His name is chance and I am going to meet him sometime in March. He is a very competitive Pleasure horse and has won lots of awards for pleasure! I can't wait to meet him! The lease isn't a for sure thing yet, but I am really hoping it will work out! She said she could teach my how to ride English too if i want too. She also said she could haul chance and me to the fair and be my coach! It's 20 mins away which is kinda far but it would be worth it!

Country girl

At first glance most people would think me as more of a "city girl" But at heart I am a true country girl. Horses are a HUGE part of my life! I have been working with/riding for years and really love it! I have had some very scary things happen that include horses I have had horses rear, buck, and just plain run me over before. I remember the first time I started working with horses at my nighbors (you can learn more about it at my blog http://horsesplainandsimple.com/ If you brows around you can find lots of info) I came wearing tennis shoes and jewlery...of course that didn't work out, but have learned a lot over the years! I know how to handle lots of sticky situations (such as being stuck in a trailer with a rearing horse and much more). I love horses. Period.

I love this picture!

Dreamer

A couple weeks ago the owner of Dreamer (the horse I lease) called and said that the horse she bought wasn't working out, so she wants Dreamer back. I'm pretty sad about it, but I have her until the end of August at least. We have been looking for another horse to lease, but there just aren't many to lease in our area. It might be easier to just buy a house but we don't have enough property so we would have to board. Which can get pretty expensive. So we just have to keep praying and have our eyes pealed. If any of you know of any horses to lease I would love it if you would let me know. Also If you would be able to pray that we would find another horse to lease in out area that would be great!
Thanks

How Many Horses Does it Take to Change a Light Bulb?

I read this and i laughed sooo hard!

Thoroughbred: Who ME? Do What? I'm scared of light bulbs! I'm getting out of here!

Arabian: I changed it an hour ago. C'mon you guys, catch up!

Quarter horse: Put all the bulbs in a pen and tell me which one you want.

Standardbred: Oh for Pete's sake, give me the darn light bulb and lets be done with it.

Shetland: Give it to me. I'll kill it and we wont have to worry about it anymore.

Friesian: I would but I can't see where I'm going from behind all this mane.

Belgian: Put the Shetland on my back, maybe he can reach it then.

Warmblood: I was sold for 75K as a yearling, but only because my hocks are bad, otherwise I would be worth 100K. I am NOT changing light bulbs, make the TB get back here and do it.

Morgan: ME! ME! ME! Pleeeese let me! I wanna do it! I'm gonna do it! I know how, really I do! Just watch I'll rewire the barn after too. My parole officer said it's okay, really! And when we're done we can go over to the neighbors and chase their cats!

Akhal Teke: I will only change it if it’s my owner’s lightbulb and no one else has ever touched it.

Andalusian: I will delegate the changing of the lightbulb to my personal groom after he finishes shampooing my mane and cleaning my saddle, but only on the condition that it is changed for a soft blue or green bulb, which reflects better off my coat while I exhibit my astonishing gaits.

Appaloosa: Ya'll a bunch of losers. We don't need to change the light bulb, I ain't scared of the dark. And someone make that darn Morgan stop jumping up and down before I double barrel him.

Haflinger: That thing I ate was a light bulb?

Mustang: Light bulb? Let's go on a trail ride instead. And camp. Out in the open like REAL horses.

Lipizzaner: Hah, amateurs. I will change the light bulb. Not only that, but I will do it while standing on my hind legs and balancing it on my nose, after which I will perform several flying lead changes in a row and a capriole.

Miniature: I bet you think I can't do it just because I'm small. You know what that is? It's sizeism!

Paint: Put all the light bulbs in a pen, tell me which one you want and my owner will bet you twenty bucks I can get it before the Quarter Horse.

Pony of America: I'm not changing it. I'm the one who kicked the old one and broke it in the first place, remember? Now, excuse me, I have a grain room to break into.

Grade Horse: Um, guys? I hope you don't mind, but I went ahead and changed it while you were all arguing.

Dreamer,Dreamer,Dreamer.

so today my sister and i started 4h barrel racing for the first time. So let me start from the beginning. My sister was going to ride Dreamer (the horse we lease) over to 4H (the stable is like a mile away from where we do 4H). So she started down the driveway and my family and i were in the car, we were going to drive behind her so that traffic wouldn't come by so fast. She crossed the rode no problem, until we got to the other side of the rode where she was going to cross to get into the field. Dreamer did NOT want to go through the grass so, naturally she reared (actually not so naturally it was really scary). My sis stayed on, and it was a full out rear ( you must understand that we were on the side of the rode with cars whizzing by and tall grass, so you can hardly blame her.) Anyways my sister was brave enough to try to bring her through the grass one more time. She made it through with a little trouble, the normal snorting, hopping etc. When she made it through my family and I (My sis is WAY more brave than me, when she reared i was so scared that i started crying, it was that bad) went around the field to the other side, in the car. she made it to the end where we were and my mom asked "how did it go"  my sister said "well....i fell off" my mom freaked out a little (it's only natural) and i freaked out A LOT! lol She wasn't hurt and she was hardly even scared (at least she didn't act that way, she is SO MUCH braver than me ;)  She was pretty bad for the rest of the night, I was riding her in 4H my sis just rode her over for me because i was too afraid xP Nobody died though so that's good! It was really stressful though. Dreamer is usually a really good horse, but she was scared and it was a new place with new people hopefully next week will go better!
